Terry student returns to finish his degree decades later

When Robert McConnell first enrolled in the University of Georgia in 1971, he didn’t imagine it would take over 40 years to complete his degree in business finance.

When McConnell left UGA in 1976, he was just three classes shy of earning his degree, but was sidetracked by his professional life, finding success in the oil industry and as the entrepreneur behind his own business ventures.

Never forgetting his unfinished business at the university however, over two years ago McConnell decided that he wanted to finally earn his degree. McConnell applied to both UGA and the Terry College of Business in Fall 2015.
